Best Builder was the original company of Best. In 1952, feeling Indianapolis didn't have enough competitors in the floor covering industry, Sidney Feldman and a good friend went into business together to service contract builders. Craftsman Flooring was established, becoming one of the first contract companies for home builders in Indianapolis, a new concept at the time.

Most companies doing builder business were retailers. To better service homebuilders, Craftsman Flooring came up with a customer specific floor covering business that would be built around the special needs of homebuilders. Concepts like locating specific installation crews to specific parts of town and to specific builders along with personally inspecting installations were just some examples.

Today, Best Flooring has moved from its humble beginnings in Broad Ripple, to a state-of-the-art facility complete with it's own warehouse. Located on the Northwest side of Indianapolis, Best Flooring is better able to meet the demands of today's homebuilders.

Best Builder is a family owned flooring company serving home builders since 1953. Best has over 300 years of combined experience. Average company tenure is over 10 years. Over the last two years, Best has won subcontractor of the year awards from Davis and Estridge Homes. Best was the only two time winner and nominee for Estridge Homes’ President’s Award in their company’s history. Best was Subcontractor of the year in 2006 for Davis Homes Best achieved NHQ certification in 2006 with NAHB. Best developed Best Inspect which eliminates all installation issues prior to closing. Installations are personally reviewed to be done complete, on time, and to quality standards. Best has developed the Best Call Center for all service, warranty, and scheduling needs.
